Miloslav Antonov, baritone

Miloslav Antonov is an undergraduate student at Mannes College The New School for Music. He will appear as Masetto this May being part of the opera program there. Other appearance include concert performances in Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center. He graduate with piano major in his native Bulgaria.

 

Seung-hyeon Baek, Baritone
Ford, Falstaff

A native of South Korea, Seung-hyeon Baek is a first-year Master’s degree candidate at Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Mark Oswald. Previous credits include Gianni Schicchi in Gianni Schicchi, Dupol in La Traviata with Chung-Ang University. Scene work includes IPuritani (Riccardo), La Bohème(Marcello) with Chung-Ang University. This season Mr. Baek will be Father in Hansel and Gretel with Amato Opera of  Manhattan School of Music.

Erik Bagger, tenor, maintains a rapidly increasing operatic repertoire.  Role highlights include: Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Almaviva in  Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Bastien in Bastien und Bastienne, Albert in Albert Herring, and Ernesto in Don Pasquale.   Erik has performed with Bronx Opera, Opera Oggi, Apollo Opera, dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, One World Symphony, The Martina Arroyo Foundation, LiedAustria, Intermezzo Opera, Opera Ischia, and New Operafestival di Roma.  He has been the recipient of the Brooklyn College Opera Theatre Award, and has been featured in an interview and broadcast of arias on WMNR Fine Arts Radio.  He holds a Masters in Music degree from the Conservatory of Music of Brooklyn College.

 

Yiselle Blum, Mezzo Soprano
Dorabella, Così fan tutte

Mezzo-soprano, Yiselle S. Blum is a native to the New York tri-state area. She has participated in prestigious international training programs such as the International Vocal Arts Institute and the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar. Ms. Blum has been seen as Hansel, Hansel and Gretel (The Bronx Opera Company); Rosina, Scenes from Il barbiere di Siviglia (Regina Opera); Cherubino, Le nozze di Figaro (Lyric Opera Studio Weimar); Rachele, Piazza Navona (Opera Manhattan); Pamela. Fra Diavolo (The Bronx Opera Company), Lola, Cavalleria Rusticana (Opera New York).


Richard Bozic, Bass-Baritone
Pistola, Falstaff

Richard Bozic obtained a classical voice education at the Peabody Conservatory. Some of Mr. Bozic's notable opera roles include; Don Pantaleone in the NYC premier of Weber/Mahler’s Die Drei Pintos, and the NYC premier of Vaughan Williams‘ The Poisoned Kiss with Bronx Opera where in a review one New York critic wrote, “Bass-baritone Richard Bozic sang with beauty of tone and august authority as Dipsacus.”  Tom in Un Ballo in Maschera with New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera, Ferdy Rabenstein in the World Premiere of Thomas Benjamin’s The Alien Corn at Peabody, and Nello in the Ohio Premiere of William MacSems’ Mardi Gras. Mr. Bozic has also appeared in productions with Cleveland Opera, Fairbanks Summer Music Festival, Bethesda Summer Music Festival and dell’Arte Opera Ensemble.

 

Tammie Bradley, soprano
Alice, Falstaff (Cover)

A native of Kentucky, Tammie Bradley has sung with the Houston Grand Opera Chorus and the Ebony Opera Chorus of Houston, Texas. Her repertoire includes Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Leonora in Il Trovatore, and the title roles in Suor Angelica and Norma. In the spring of 2011 Ms. Bradley placed in the 6th Annual Lois Alba Vocal Competition of Houston, TX. Ms. Bradley has won or place in several other prestigious operatic and art song competitions including the Metropolitan Regional Council. She is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

 

Laurence Broderick, Tenor
Fenton, Falstaff

Laurence Broderick was recently praised in the New York Times for his impassioned singing of the title role in Huang Ruo’s Dr. Sun Yat-Sen. He also sang for several seasons with the New York City Opera, including productions La Fanciulla del West, Of Mice and Men, L’Etoile, The Capulets and the Montagues, Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Touring), and Ariodante. Also, he has performed with the Sarasota Opera in Falstaff, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Oberto Conte di San Bonifacio, and scenes from La Bohème, Un Ballo in Maschera, and La Rondine, and the Utah Festival Opera in Susannah, Naughty Marietta, and South Pacific. He performed in the CBS produced television show “Who Wants to Be an Opera Star” in which featured an appearance at Symphony Space in New York.

 

André Courville, bass-baritone

Bass-baritone André Courville is returning for his third season with Prelude to Performance. He was seen in 2011 as Rambaldo in La Rondine, and in 2007 as Schlemil, Crespel, and Hermann in Les Contes d'Hoffmann. A Louisiana native, Courville attended Loyola University New Orleans and recently placed second in the Gulf Coast Region of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Upcoming performances include the title role in Le Nozze di Figaro with the Vancouver Summer Opera Studio.

Marcos Cuevas, a native of Queens, New York,is a first-year Master’s degree student at Manhattan School of Music under the study of Catherine Malfitano.  Previous credits include Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi (Gherardo), Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors (Kaspar), Mozart’s Die Zauberflote (Monostatos), and Poulenc’s Les Mamelles De Tiresias (Le Mari). Scene work includes Tamino in Die Zauberflote, Alfredo in Verdi's La Traviata and Pissandro in Monteverdi's Il Ritorno D’Ulisse in Patria

 

Victoria Fox, Mezzo-Soprano

Victoria had her operatic debut at the age of twelve as a gingerbread cookie in Humperdink’s Hansel und Gretel. In addition to her high school education at the Northwestern Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy, she began taking music classes at the D’Angelo School of Music in Erie, PA. There, Victoria took part in many productions including Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Die Zauberflote, and the world premiere of Seymour Barab’s License to Marry. During this time Victoria also worked with the After Dinner Opera Company where she performed the role of Mrs. Gobineau in Menotti’s The Medium. Victoria earned her Bachelor of Music at The Lamont School of Music in Denver, Colorado. There she learned the roles of Dorabella from Cosi fan Tutte, and the Third Lady from Die Zauberflote, which she covered at the Tuscia Opera Festival in Viterbo, Italy. In 2009, Ms. Fox performed the title role in Bizet’s Carmen. Currently, Victoria is working on her Master’s at The University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. In the last year, Victoria has performed the role of Zita in USC’s production of Gianni Schicchi and made her international debut as the Duchesse in Offenbach’s La Grande Duchesse de Gerolstein with the Franco-American Vocal Academy in Perigueux, France.

 

Chelsea Friedlander, Soprano
Nanetta, Falstaff

Chelsea Friedlander holds a Bachelor of Music from Cleveland Institute of Music and a Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music. Ms. Friedlander was awarded with an Encouragement Award at the Metropolitan Opera Competition at the Connecticut District. Last summer, Ms. Friedlander was an Apprentice Artist at Opera in the Ozarks and sang the role of Adele in Die Fledermaus Other roles include: Papagena in The Magic Flute, Esther in Esther and Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance. In August, Ms. Friedlander will sing the role of  Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro at Lyric Opera Studio of Weimar in Germany.


Matthew Gamble, baritone
Ford, Falstaff

A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Matthew began his formal studies at the North Carolina School of the Arts. Shortly thereafter he relocated to Prague where within a short time he made his professional debut in the title role of Don Giovanni at a special concert performance in the Prague Castle. Following this success he remained in the Czech Republic where he furthered his studies with Petr Dolejsi of the National Theater Prague. Currently a Resident Artist with the Connecticut Lyric Opera, recent roles have included il Conte in Le Nozze di Figaro, Papageno in Die Zauberflote, Betto in Gianni Schicchi, the Sacristan in Tosca, and, most recently with the company, Luther and Schlemil in Le Contes D’Hoffman. Further engagements have included King Melchoir in Amahl and the Nigh Visitors, In 2011 he was a participant in Lorin Maazel’s Castleton Festival where he was heard in new productions of La Boheme and L’enfant et les Sortileges. Matthew continues his studies with Elizabeth Nohe Colson of Atlanta, Georgia.

 

Erin Gonzalez, Mezzo-Soprano
Dorabella, Così fan tutte

From Las Vegas, Nevada, Erin graduated in 2011 from the Eastman School of Music with an MM in Vocal Performance and Literature. While at Eastman, she studied privately with Jan Opalach. With the Eastman Opera Theatre, she covered the role of Dorabella in scenes from Mozart’s Così fan tutte and performed the role of Orfeo in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice. She received her BM in Vocal Performance from Chapman University in 2008. While at Chapman, Erin studied privately with Christina Dahlin and performed the roles of the Third Spirit in Die Zauberflöte, Nancy in Albert Herring, Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, La Infermiera in Suor Angelica, and Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi. In June 2008 she performed the role of Hansel in Hansel and Gretel with the Nevada Opera Theatre.

 

Nicole Haslett, Soprano
Nanetta, Falstaff

Nichole was last seen as Florestine in John Corgliano's The Ghosts of Versailles at the Manhattan School of Music, from where she holds an M. M. in Vocal Performance. Previous credits include Susannah in Le nozze di Figaro at Opera in the Ozarks, and Eva in the oratorio Die Schöpfung at MSM conducted by Kent Tritle. Nicole was a finalist last year for the Eisenberg-Fried Concerto Competition at MSM singing Milhaud’s Chansons de Ronsard. She is currently an artist with the NYC-based organization Opera Singer's Initiative. Later this summer, Nicole will be participating in the I SING BEIJING program in China.

Leah is a Music-voice performance major at Morgan State University where she studies with Devonna Rowe. Her roles include Geraldine in A Hand of Bridge, Zita in Gianni Schicchi and Maria in Porgy and Bess. She has been a featured soloist on the Kennedy, Kimmel Center and has been a guest soloist with the Mid-Atlantic Symphony and Black Pearl Orchestras. She was in master classes with Denyce Graves, Angela Brown and with Giuseppe Lanzetta in Florence, Italy. She is a 2010 and 2011 1st place winner in the MD/DC area NATS competition. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity for Women Inc. and the National Association of Negro Musicians Inc.

 

Allyson Herman, Soprano

Allyson holds a Master's degree and Professional Studies certificate from Manhattan School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music from the Purchase College Conservatory of Music. Recent credits include Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro with Opera on the Avalon; Pamina in Tony Amato's Opera in Brief: The Magic Flute, Pascal in Randall Eng's Henry's Wife in conjunction with American Opera Projects, and Alma in Lee Hoiby's Summer and Smoke, all at Manhattan School of Music.  Other appearances include Barbarina and First Bridesmaid (Le nozze di Figaro), Damigella (L'incoronazione di Poppea), First Lady (scenes from Die Zauberflöte), and Josephine (scenes from HMS Pinafore). Upcoming engagements include a yearlong residency with Opera Singers Initiative, Mozart’s Requiem with the Astoria Symphony Orchestra, and The Opera Games, an educational outreach show Ms. Herman is writing and producing. 

 

Robert Kerr, baritone
Sir John Falstaff, Falstaff

Known for his commanding instrument and stage savvy, Robert Kerr’s foundation in opera began in musical theater. He has appeared in summer stock theater with The Barn Theater and Huron Playhouse; and in past productions with the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music’s Opera Theater and the Music Festival of Lucca, Italy. His past operatic roles include; Scarpia in Tosca, Secret Police Agent in The Consul, Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Germont in La traviata, Ford in Falstaff, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Mr. Kerr has worked with Toledo Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Baltimore Concert Opera, Opera Columbus and Southern Ohio Light Opera.

 

Ekaterina Kim, soprano
Fiordiligi, Così fan tutte

Russian soprano Ekaterina Kim made her professional debut in Germany as the soprano soloist in Haydn`s  Die Schöpfung.  Ms. Kim was the Southwest regional finalist in the 2009 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.  Her operatic roles include Tatjana in Eugene Onegin, Pamina in Die Zauberföte,  Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte and Concepcion in L’heure espagnole. In 2010, Ms. Kim was a guest artist at Hartwick College, N.Y. singing Schoenberg’s The Book of Hanging Gardens with much acclaim. In 2011, she was featured in Opera Delaware Recital Series.

 

Hyo Na Kim, Mezzo-Soprano
Dame Quickly, Falstaff

Hyo Na Kim, a recent national grand finalist of the Met Auditions, a first prize winner of the Gerda Lissner Competition, and multiple grant winner at the Licia Albanese-Puccini and Giulio Gari Competitions, earned M.M. and P.S.D. from Mannes College in NYC. During her time as a member of the Mannes Opera she performed with great critical acclaim many roles under Maestro Joseph Colaneri such as, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro and Annina in La Traviata. Among her other parts are Hermia in Britten’s A Mid-summer Night’s Dream, which she sang at Israel ’s IVAI and Suzuki, in Madama Butterfly performed with Opera Lancester.

 

Steven LaBrie, baritone
Guglielmo, Così fan tutte

Steven LaBrie, a native of Dallas, Texas, is a graduate of The Academy of Vocal Arts (AVA) in Philadelphia, PA. During his residency, he performed roles such as Marcello in La bohème, Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Kuligan in Kát’a Kabanová, Baron Douphol in La Traviata, Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia, and the Captain in Eugene Onegin. He has performed with Opera New Jersey as Moralés in Carmen. During the Summer of 2010, he made his debut with Glimmerglass Opera as Araspe in the United States premier of Handel’s Tolomeo followed by another United States premier as the Miller in El gato con botas with Gotham Chamber Opera at the New Victory Theatre in New York.  He made his debut with the Dallas Opera the following February as Paris and Mercutio in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette. This season he portrayed Schaunard and covered Marcello in Opera Santa Barbara's production of La bohème. In January, Mr. LaBrie sang a night of opera with the St. Barth’s Music Festival under the baton of Maestro Steven Mercurio. Mr. LaBrie has recently received the Judges Award with the Opera Index Competition.

 

Christopher Longo, tenor
Bardolfo, Falstaff

From Tampa, FL, Christopher is a third year voice performance major at Florida State University. He began his studies on the violin and pursued his performance degree until he was encouraged by his then-voice teacher to seriously consider the FSU voice program. After his acceptance as a voice student, Longo sang Frederick in The Pirates of Penzance, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Le Fils in Les mamelles de Tiresias, and Mons-ieur Vogelsang in Der Schauspieldirektor. He studies with David Okerlund.

 

Jonathan Morales, tenor
Bardolfo, Falstaff

Jonathan is currently receiving his Professional Studies Certificate from Mannes College under Arthur Levy. Recent roles include Camille in The Merry Widow, Nemorino (cover) in L’elisir d’amore, and Mr. Angel in The Impressario. He has sung with The Dallas Opera, The Living Opera, Colorado Light Opera, Voces Intimae, and was a participant in Opera Colorado’s Young Artist Program. He has been a winner in the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Competition and has won the Texoma NATS Regional Competition.

 

Youngchul Park, tenor
Fenton, Falstaff

This season, tenor, Youngchul Park sings Lenksy from Eugene Onegin with Belcantanti Opera,and appears as a soloist at Weill recital hall at Carnegie hall. His recent operatic roles include Ruggero in La Rondine and Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi with MAF, Michele in The Saint of Bleecker street, Riccardo in Un ballo in maschera with Mannes Opera, and Rodrigue in Le cid with Empire Opera. Last year he was invited to sing in master class series of the Metropolitan Opera Guild. Mr. Park has appeared as a soloist in Verdi's Requiem with New York Choral Society, Mozart's Requiem, Haydn's the Creation and Deo Gratias by Michael Fox. He completed his Professional Studies Diploma at Mannes College in 2011.

 

Kiri Parker, mezzo-soprano
Meg Page, Falstaff

A native of the UK, Kiri Parker’s has worked with composers such as Michael Berkeley, Nicola Le Fanu and John Woolrich. Recently, she sang Argento’s Miss Manners on Music and Horovitz’s Lady Macbeth for the Aspen Music Festival. Operatic roles include Hasse’s Cleopatra (GSMD), Hermia (AOTC), Meg Page(Mannes Opera), Musetta (Oxford City Opera), Rita (GSMD), Rosina (cover AOTC), Servilia (Operatique), Thisbe (Capitol Heights Lyric Opera) and Woman with a Hat (cover AOTC). She plays Frau Reich and Emilia for Delaware Valley Opera later this Summer.

 

Rogelio B. Peñaverde Jr., tenor
Ferrando, Così fan tutte

Rogelio B. Peñaverde Jr. is a native of Manila, Philippines. He began the year performing the role of Amaryllus from Vaughn William’s The Poisoned Kiss with the Bronx Opera Company. His other opera credits include the roles of Don Ottavio from Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Ernesto from Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Tamino from Mozart’s Die Zauberflote, Lorenzo from Auber’s Fra Diavolo, and Gheroldo from Steffani’s Tassilone.  He earned his M.M. in Voice from the Manhattan School of Music where he was a merit scholar.

 

Nichole Ashley Peyreigne, Mezzo-soprano
Dame Quickly, Falstaff

Nichole started singing at the age of 16 under the instruction of Joan Caplan at The Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Division. Since then she has attended "The Bel Canto Institute" in Florence Italy and "Revealing the Actor/Singer Within" with Catherine Malfitano. Additionally she has performed with Citywide Youth Opera under the direction of Andres Andrade. This past summer she attended Sherry Overholt's "Westchester Summer Vocal Institute", and for three summers has studied at "The Institute for Young Dramatic Voices" in Orem, Utah with Dolora Zajick. Nichole currently studies privately with Sherry Overholt and is a Senior at SUNY Purchase. Last July she performed as Annio in scenes from La Clemenza di tito and Nicklausse in Les contes d'Hoffmann at The Institute for Young Dramatic Voices. She has most recently coached with Tony Manoli and Joan Kruger and has had the opportunity to perform in masterclasses for Matthew Horner, Deborah Birnbaum and Dolora Zajick. Nichole has additionally performed in scenes as Ma Moss in The Tenderland, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutee, Mignon in Mignon. Marcellina & Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro and Carmen in Carmen.

Jason Plourde, baritone
Sir John Falstaff, Falstaff

A native of Caribou, Maine, Jason Plourde has operatic credits including Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Dr. Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Don Giovanni in Don Giovanni and Sir Joseph Porter in HMS Pinafore. Mr. Plourde has had the distinct pleasures of creating the role of Burton in Thomas Pasatieri’s The Hotel Casablanca with the Merola Opera Program and performing the role of Horace Tabor in the 50th Anniversary performance of The Ballad of Baby Doe at Central City Opera. In addition to these, Mr. Plourde has worked with companies including New York City Opera, Indianapolis Opera, Opera New Jersey, Sarasota Opera and Bel Canto at Caramoor.

 

Carlos Saenz, baritone
Guglielmo, Così fan tutte

A native of Texas, Carlos Saenz has sung Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro and Bhaer in Little Women with Opera in the Ozarks as well as Morales in Carmen, Corporal in La Fille du Regiment, and Comisario Imperiale in Madama Butterfly with San Antonio Opera. As part of San Antonio Opera‘s Young Artist Program and Educational Outreach, he appeared in Don Giovanni, La Traviata, Tosca, Il Trovatore, L’Elisir D’Amore, and Le nozze di  Figaro. Mr. Saenz is a graduate student at Texas State University.

 

Maggie Sczekan, soprano
Despina, Così fan tutte

Colorado native Maggie received her bachelor's degree in classical vocal performance at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and is currently working toward her master's degree in the same at the University of Colorado at Boulder where she studies with Jennifer Bird-Arvidsson. She was most recently seen as Christine in Phantom’s three month run at Boulder's Dinner Theatre. Of her performance, the Westword said, "She has the kind of rich, expressive voice you want to listen to all night.” CU credits include the Act I premiere of the new opera Ludlow (Luisa Mole), La cambiale di matrimonio (Fanny), Suor Angelica (Genovieffa), and Le nozze di Figaro (Susanna) . She hopes to specialize in Mozart. When she’s not in rehearsal or on stage, Maggie can be found in ballet class or on her yoga mat.

 

Brandon Snook, tenor
Dr. Caius, Falstaff

Noted for his "sweet, reedy" voice (The Dallas Morning News), Brandon Snook is rising as a most promising American young tenor. He is currently a resident artist at American Opera Project's Composers and The Voice Series in Brooklyn. Recent performances of Vietnam POW Jim Thompson in Chelsea Opera's production of Glory Denied garnered acclaim from The New York Times, admiring his “vocal freshness, tempered with despondency”. He also was recently in Greenville, SC, performing Alfred in Die Fledermaus at Greenville Light Opera Works, where The Greenville News praised him as “a standout, boasting a ringing voice and suave musicianship”. Additional operatic mainstage and Young Artist credits include Cincinnati Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Des Moines Metro Opera, Sarasota Opera, and Seagle Music Colony. A native of Dallas, Texas, Brandon holds Voice degrees from The University of Kansas and The University of Michigan.

 

Mizuho Takeshita, soprano
Despina, Così fan tutte

A native of Japan, soprano singer Mizuho Takeshita holds both Bachelor and Master of Music degree from Ochanomizu University in Japan. As part of opera that was held in Japan, she appeared in Così Fan Tutte, Manon and Hamlet. She was awarded 2nd prize at the Tokyo International Music competition in Japan in 2011. Mizuho currently studies with Ms. Marcella Reale and Ms. Martina Arroyo.  With her fresh and brilliant voice, she is expected to play an active part in classic music as a talented opera singer.

 

Marcos Vigil, Tenor

Marcos Vigil holds both a Masters Degree and Professional Studies Certificate from the Manhattan School of Music. Recent performances include Don Ramiro from La Cenerentola with Capital Heights Lyric Opera of New York, and Count Almaviva from Il Barbiere di Siviglia with Opera Company of Brooklyn. Mr. Vigil has also performed the role of Prunier in Puccini’s La Rondine with the Martina Arroyo Foundation’s Prelude to Performance Summer Program, as well as the role of Beppe from Donizetti’s Rita, where Opera News hailed his performance as “a comedic and vocal tour de force”.  Mr. Vigil currently studies with tenor Eduardo Valdes from the Metropolitan Opera.

 

Keyona Willis, Soprano
Fiordiligi, Così fan tutte

Lyric Soprano, Keyona Willis, a native of Sunbury, Ohio, will be portraying Alice in Verdi’s, Falstaff, this spring with OSU opera. And this fall she will play Mimi in Opera Columbus’ production of La Bohème. Past work includes: Aida- Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida; Adolfo- Faramondo; Countess- Le nozze di Figaro; Polly- The Threepenny Opera; Susannah- Tintypes; Monica- The Medium and Rosa Bud- The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Ms. Willis is currently working on her DMA at The Ohio State University.

 

Clara Yu, soprano
Fiordiligi, Così fan tutte

Clara Yu, a native of South Korea, has most recently appeared as Magda in La Rondine for the Martina Arroyo Foundation in 2011.She has played a number of soprano roles across the US, Europe and Asia including Mimi in La Boheme, Miss Jessel in the Turning of the Screw, and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with the Charlemagne Orchestra. She is a Long Leaf Opera finalist, a Lois Alba competition finalist, and was the first place delegate from South Korea for the Tachigawa Opera Festival in Japan. She holds a Master's in Musical Arts from the Manhattan School of Music in New York and also graduated top of her class from Seoul University in Korea. She is returning to the Martina Arroyo Foundation as Fiordilige in Cosi fan tutte this summer.

 

Christian Zaremba, bass-baritone

Christian recently debuted at Carnegie Hall as Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni; He has sung Sarastro in Die Zauberflote and Angellotti in Tosca with New York Lyric Opera. The speaking role of the Porter in Manon at the Metropolitan Opera and understudied the role of Agamemnon in Iphigenie en Tauride at the MET. Don Basilio in IL Barbiere di Siviglia with Capitol Heights Opera. He is also a movement and fight captain at the MET; supervising and performing roles in Boris Godunov (Wadsworth), Tosca, (Bondy), Don Carlo (Hytner) and IL Trovatore (McVicar).

Meroe Khalia Adeeb, soprano
Despina, Così fan tutte

Meroe Khalia Adeeb is from Accokeek, Maryland. At Tuskegee University she took voice lessons with Dr. Wayne A. Barr. In 2008 she participated in the Italian Opera Study Abroad Program in Pisa, Italy. Here Meroe was coached by the noted Italian soprano Maria Billeri. After graduating from Tuskegee, she began working on her degree in Vocal Performance at Louisiana State University in the studio of Robert Grayson. With the LSU Opera she has appeared in the chorus of Le Nozze di Figaro and La Bohème. Also she played the role of Cherubino Pig in The Three Little Pigs with the Louisiana Opera Outreach Program (LOOP), and the 1st Spirit in The Magic Flute with Opera Louisiane.

 

Soprano Alyssa Brooks,

a native of Indianapolis, is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, where she sang the role of Gretel in an abridged Hänsel und Gretel in 2007. She recently performed the role of Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus at the University of Evansville, where she is a senior working toward her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance. As an undergraduate, she has also sung the role of Laetitia in The Old Maid and the Thief, and has appeared in Suor Angelica, La Bohème, and Cosi fan tutte.

 

Theodora Cottarel

is a Franco-american soprano. She recently graduated from the Manhattan School of Music where she received a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance. Theodora has participated in opera productions and concerts throughout the United States and Europe. Full roles include Maria in the world premiere of Yerma by Edward Poll, Donatella, in the US premiere of Nina by Paisiello, Shadow Jo, in the European premiere of Little Women by Mark Adamo, and Polly in Austin's Beggars Opera.

 

Greek-American, mezzo-soprano, Lea Garinis is happy to be rejoining the MAF. Last season she was seen in the ensemble of Don Giovanni and La Rondine. Recent performances include Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) Prince Charming (Cendrillon) and Dritte Dame (Die Zauberflöte) with New York Lyric Opera Theatre. Other roles include La Messaggiera in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo and Hansel in Hansel and Gretel. Mrs. Garinis received her MM in Vocal Performance from Ithaca College and her BM from State University of New York at Fredonia. She is a student of Patrice Pastore.

 

Josh Kight is a Junior at the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. He has performed in multiple opera scenes from Candide, Don Giovanni, and  L’elisir d’amore. He has also performed in many musical theatre productions, including Songs for a New World,   LaChiusa’s The Wild Party, and Sweeney Todd. He is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in Music Performance at UE.

 

 

Born in Richardson, Texas, Amanda Mason has performed scenes as Adina in L'elisir d'amore, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Lucy in La Casablanca, Musetta in La Bohème, and Lay Sister in Suor Angelica.  In 2010, she was the youngest Soprano excepted to Opera Viva in Verona, Italy where she worked with June Anderson. She has performed at many prestigious events such as the Rays and Yankees baseball game, Florida House of Representatives, National Order of Women Legislatures, along with other Nat. Conferences. Ms. Mason is a recent graduate of Manhattan School of Music in New York with a BA and will be returning for Grad School.

 

A native of Jackson, Mississippi, DeAnna Tisdale has just completed her Master of Music in Vocal Performance Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. She recently understudied the role of Santuzza from Cavalleria Rusticana with the USM School of Music. She won 1st place in the Southern regional NATS competition in November 2011. She sang with the Mississippi Opera in their 2009-2010 Champagne season as a soloist in The Best of Opera Choruses and as a chorus member in Die Fledermaus. During the summer of 2009, she traveled to Rome where she took part in the Opera Festival di Roma. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music/Vocal Performance from Tougaloo College.

 

A native of Boston, Wendy Wang has sung Mastrilla in La Perichole and Moppet in Paul Bunyan with New England Conservatory’s Graduate Opera. As part of Lowell House Opera’s Scenes Program, she has performed Carmen in Carmen, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, and Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Ms. Wang is a graduate of Harvard University and New England Conservatory’s Dual-Degree Program.
